Arrival

For those not using our airport transfer service, the best time to arrive is at around 10am on the Monday. We will have students arriving all day on our airport transfers though, so if you can’t arrive by 10am that’s not a problem. Our Monday schedule is designed so that all-day arrivals do not disrupt the programme.

Departure

For those not using our airport transfer service, the best time to collect your child is at 10am on Sunday (the last day). Our departure time is flexible and we are happy for you to collect your child any time between 8am and 12pm.

We are only able to release students from our care to a named parent/legal guardian. If you would like someone else to collect your child, please provide us with a written and signed request from a parent or legal guardian naming the person collecting the child ahead of the collection day. We will provide a password for collection and will ask for ID from the person collecting.

Airport Transfers

Our airport shuttle service operates on every course start and finish date. We have a specialist team of staff at the airports on arrival and departure days dedicated to ensuring the smooth transfer of each student between their flight and our shuttle buses to and from the school. Our shuttles run approximately every two hours between the airports and Charterhouse School. You give us your child’s flight details and we will meet them at the airport, wait with them and accompany them to our shuttle bus.

In the unlikely event that you are unable to arrange flights during these hours please email info@charterhousesummerschool.com and we may be able to arrange an out-of-hours transfer for an additional charge of between £150 and £200. Please note that we cannot accommodate out-of-hours transfers where students land in the UK after 8:30pm or flies back out from the UK after 9pm.

For Heathrow and Gatwick Airports

ARRIVAL TRANSFER £130 (or £160 with unaccompanied minor service, see below)
Flights landing at Heathrow (LHR) from 08:00 to 16:00 on the first day (Monday)
Flights landing at Gatwick (LGW) from 08:00 to 16:00 on the first day (Monday)

DEPARTURE TRANSFER £130 (or £160 with unaccompanied minor service, see below)
Flights departing Heathrow (LHR) from 11:00 to 18:00 on the last day (Sunday)
Flights departing Gatwick (LGW) from 11:00 to 17:00 on the last day (Sunday)

Please note that you must book your course and have your flight details before booking transfers with us through this website.

Airport Transfers with Unaccompanied Minor Service

We recommend using an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) or Airport Assistance service if your child is under 14 years old or is an inexperienced traveller. This service provides an airline staff member to supervise and escort your child during their flight and in the parts of the airport that are not accessible to our staff. Many airlines offer this service and some require you to use this service for children under a certain age so please check with the airline and pay applicable fees for both your inbound and outbound journey. If you have booked this service you must notify us in your transfer booking. We charge an additional £30 for this service.
